Promperú-Mincetur, Lima Airport and Aeropuertos Del Perú participate in Routes Of Americas 2025 International Trade Fair

Routes of Americas is a key platform to boost Peru's air connectivity, attracting new airlines and fostering the development of strategic routes.

Lima Airport, concessionaire of Jorge Chávez International Airport, together with Aeropuertos del Perú (AdP) and PromPerú-Mincetur, will participate in the Routes of Americas 2025 International Fair, the most important event of the airline industry in the continent. This meeting will take place from February 10 to 12 in Nassau and Paradise Island (Bahamas) and will bring together aviation leaders, airports and tourism promotion agencies, with the aim of identifying new opportunities for the development of air traffic in South America.

The Vice Minister of Mincetur, Madeleine Burns, points out the importance of this event as a means to promote the expansion of the international connectivity network and facilitate the arrival of more tourists to Peru. In this regard, the authority announced that new connection opportunities have been identified with destinations in North America, Latin America and the Caribbean, which are expected to materialize in the short and medium term, through the airlines that will participate in Routes of Americas. He also mentioned the importance of having an air trade policy that provides greater openness for market access and, thus, strengthen the competitiveness of international air transportation.

“Lima Airport aims to consolidate its position as a hub in Latin America, so our main objective is to attract new airlines with routes from Europe or Asia. This will not only increase point-to-point traffic and connections, but also promote tourism in the country. Given Lima's strategic location as a hub, we will continue to seek regional markets in South America, the United States and Canada, promoting increased passenger flow to the north and south of the Americas,” said Norbert Onkelbach, Central Commercial Manager at Lima Airport.

Routes of Americas 2025 is a leading platform in the commercial aviation industry, which promotes the entry into operation of new air routes, the negotiation of commercial agreements and the analysis of future trends in connectivity. This year, the presence of Lima Airport, AdP and PromPerú-Mincetur will be a key showcase to promote the country brand and highlight Peru's potential in the air sector.

“Events of this importance, where the route planners of the main airlines of the region meet with the airports, are of vital importance to promote the different tourist destinations offered by the country. In this opportunity, the joint participation with Lima Airport and Promperú allows us to offer a comprehensive tourism offer. In line with this, we remain firm in our commitment to continue promoting the development of new air routes, as well as to continue working jointly with the State in the development and expansion of the infrastructure of our airports, in order to improve the tourist offer, maintain airport security levels and guarantee the growth of our sector”, said Evans Avendaño, CEO of Aeropuertos del Perú (AdP).

Participation in Routes of Americas 2025 reinforces the commitment of Lima Airport, AdP and PromPerú-Mincetur to position Peru as a competitive and strategic destination. This effort, backed by the joint agreement and the upcoming start of operations of the new passenger terminal, consolidates the country as a key hub in the region and an engine for economic and tourism growth.
